Delta Mu Hosts Food Drive

ANC’s Community Service Club, Delta Mu, hosted its annual food drive during the first two weeks of November in support of the Inter-Faith Housing Alliance Food Cupboard. Students were encouraged to bring in canned and non-perishable food items as a part of a class competition.

“The food drive really sets the tone for Thanksgiving,” stated Delta Mu president Emma B. “It shows us how grateful we are for food and volunteers, and catalyzes charity among students. It also shows that when students work together, they can get lots of things to put toward a common cause. It is awesome to see the love and kindness this event brings to the school.”

Fellow president Evan B. agreed, adding, “The annual Delta Mu food drive gives people in the school a simple, easy way to give to those less fortunate and make a difference. The addition of the class competition increases the amount of donations while simultaneously unifying the classes towards a common goal which is great to see!"

Delta Mu advisor, Mrs. Cronlund, said that her favorite day in the food drive is when “the deadline is approaching and one class thinks they have the lead in donating the most and then another class comes in and completely fills up (with overflow!) their class bin with even MORE donated food! This is when the class competition really heats up!”

This year the Junior Class collected the most donations and were declared the winners of the class competition!
