Girls Soccer Coming Fall of 2026

The Academy of the New Church announced in June that it will add girls soccer back to its athletic offerings beginning in the fall of 2026. The girls soccer program will provide expanded opportunities for female student-athletes and reflects the growing interest of girls soccer in the ANC Community.

Athletic Director Jackie Pennink expressed “We are excited to launch girls soccer and give our student-athletes expanded opportunities to compete, learn and grow.”

Pennink announced that Angelo Cascarelli has been named the head coach. Cascarelli began his playing career with Fox Chase Soccer Club, before moving on to Father Judge High School. He continued his soccer journey at Bryn Athyn College from 2015 to 2019, contributing to the program as a dynamic and hardworking collegiate athlete. After graduation, Cascarelli joined the ANC Boys Soccer coaching staff, where he has served as an assistant coach for the past three seasons. In addition to coaching at ANC, he currently coaches club soccer at FC Bucks.

Coach Cascarelli said “I’m honored to be a part of bringing girls soccer back to ANC. I’m excited to build a strong team culture and establish a standard that defines who we are and how we play. My goal is to create an environment where players take pride in representing the program and being a part of something special!”

To celebrate the addition of girls soccer, Girls School Principal Erica Stine volunteered to sit in a dunk tank during Charter Day Weekend, while members of the team took turns kicking a soccer ball at the target to try and dunk her. Principal Stine added “I am thrilled to support the Athletics Department in bringing soccer back to the ANC Girls School. We are excited for the opportunity to expand our offerings, and meet the wishes of our current and future students. Go Lions!”
