Delta Mu Gift Wrapping Event

Delta Mu Gift Wrapping Event

Each year, the service club Delta Mu provides presents for children at the Interim House West, a safe haven for women and their children. In early December, students gathered to go shopping at Target to pick out gifts, then returned to the dining hall to wrap the presents. The atmosphere was festive as students listened to music, sipped hot chocolate, ate cookies and festively wrapped all of the gifts.

Delta Mu Boys School president Ryan F. said: “The gift wrapping is great because it doesn’t even feel like you're volunteering, it’s just having fun and wrapping presents. This was my first time participating and I already can’t wait until next year!”

Meg M., the Girls School Delta Mu president, agreed: “The Delta Mu Christmas gift wrapping is one of my favorite events of the year! It’s such a great way to get into the holiday spirit while giving back to the community. It’s an amazing feeling to help make some child’s Christmas a bit more magical, and spread some love and joy around.”

Ms. Bonnie Hodgell, one of the teacher chaperones, believes that “this special event really puts you in the Christmas spirit!” and senior Anya D. said: “The Christmas gift wrapping was the perfect way to ‘wrap up’ the year!”

Meg, Ryan and the Delta Mu faculty advisors dropped off the presents to the Interim House residents over Christmas break.
