Performing Arts
At ANC we are proud of our rich dramatic arts program, which offers opportunities for students to perform and work behind the scenes.
Classroom courses include Stagecraft, Instrumental Ensemble, Choral Ensemble and Dance Team. Students are also invited to audition for our annual theatrical productions.
There are also opportunities for our technical theater students to assist in set building and creating costumes, as well as participation in all aspects of our main stage productions. We strive to have the technical aspects of our plays and musicals be as student-led as possible including costuming, set design and building, stage crew, lighting, sound, props and makeup. Each year around 50% of the student population participates in an extracurricular production either on stage or back stage.
Our theater program is a part of the Greater Philadelphia Cappies and a founding member of the Philadelphia Independence Awards.
