About Performing Arts Camp:
Our professional group of teachers will lead your child through the process of blocking, vocal production, learning choreography and character development. The camp is held in the Mitchell Performing Arts Center located on the ANC campus and will run Tuesday, June 20, to Friday, June 30, 2023, with the final performances held on Friday, June 30th at 4:00 p.m. & 6:30 p.m.
This camp will foster the imagination, creativity and practical performance skills of the campers as well as provide a positive space to make new friends. Campers will be exposed to many aspects of theatre; those who are newer to this art form will be given an introduction and those with experience will be pushed to advance their skills. The camp will feature break-out sessions such as sound, rigging, stage combat, lighting, theatrical/jazz dance technique and theatrical make-up, as well as rehearsals for the performance of “The Lion King, JR.”
Camp sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch break. The first day of camp will run 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Campers should bring their own brown bag lunch and will have access to a refrigerator and microwave. All campers will be included onstage for the performances of Disney’s “The Lion King JR.”
The cost of Performing Arts Camp is $525 which includes a keepsake script, digital download of the dress rehearsal video, and camp t-shirt. Campers will be provided with a costume to wear during the performance but are required to provide their own dance shoes and undergarments as well as rehearsal clothing. A $150 non-refundable deposit is due at registration and final payment is due by May 1, 2023. There is a discount of $50 off the camp total for deposits received before March 1, 2023.
