Allyn Simons, RN, MSN, CSN | allyn.simons@anc-gc.org
After graduating from the Academy of the New Church in 1969, I obtained a Bachelor's in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago in 1973, and a Master's in Nursing from Duke in 1977. My nursing career has included work for academic medical centers (UNC Hospitals in North Carolina, Northwestern Memorial in Chicago, and the Penn Health System) in the areas of psychiatry, emergency room, and clinical resource management. My favorite position to date has been working for the Academy of the New Church and Bryn Athyn College (since 1998.) I became certified as a school nurse in 2007.
It is a privilege to practice my profession in a setting that emphasizes love of God and the neighbor as our primary aim and goal in life. I am always impressed by the deep commitment of the faculties and administrations to the health and well-being of the students on the natural and spiritual planes. I regard student health as one stop along the continuum of offerings we provide, in preparing young people for lives of useful service.
Jenny Blair, RN | jenny.blair@anc-gc.org
I graduated from the Academy of the New Church in 1970 and attended the Bryn Athyn College for three years. I went on to marriage and family before becoming a professional nurse in 1992 (Montgomery County Community College.) My clinical background includes Oncology, Medical/Surgical Nursing and Physical/Rehabilitation.
I started working for the Academy of the New Church and Bryn Athyn College in 2007. I love working with both of the student populations. It gives me a chance to serve the schools my own children attended and the community where my husband Jeb (ANC '69) and I have lived for 36 years. They say laughter is the best medicine, and I take this very seriously in my work at ANC and BAC.
