Student Life

Student Health | Counseling

When an ANC student is in need of counseling there are a number of resources available.

Academic Advisors

Academic advisors play a key role in the life of ANC students. Advisors serve as the first line of defense for students in need of academic assistance or advice, but are also available to their advisees for counseling in other areas, such as time or stress management.

College and Career Counseling

Kevin Junge' provides college and career counseling services to all ANC students.

School Chaplain

The Rev. Barry Halterman serves as ANC Chaplain. Mr. Halterman is available to each student for any personal and confidential counseling. Alternatively, students may request counseling from other ministers on the ANC staff or other ministers affiliated with the Bryn Athyn Church.

School Nurse

ANC's school nurses, led by Ms. Crystal Smith, are available to ANC students for confidential health counseling.

Growth Opportunity Center

The Academy contracts with the Growth Opportunity Center to provide confidential professional counseling when other options are not suitable. The school may be able to help cover the cost of initial visits. If continued care is necessary, parents must work out insurance/payment provisions with the Growth Opportunity Center. To discuss options regarding Growth Opportunity Center, students and parents may speak with the school nurse, head houseparent, or principal.

Those wishing to contact the Growth Opportunity Center outside of the school contract can do so by visiting or calling their main number: 215-947-8117.
