Campus Clubs

To encourage community and friendship on campus, ANC has four campus clubs. ANC students are invited to join clubs the fall of their sophomore year, and spend the fall term pledging. Pledging is a series of bonding experiences — fundraisers (like lemonade stands), learning club songs, and a little bit of healthy club rivalry.

Telegrams

A favorite club activity is Telegrams. Each club prepares a series of singing telegrams and delivers them to each of the other clubs during semi-annual club banquets.

Alpha Kappa Mu

The Alpha Kappa Mu is the local girls club. They put on an annual "Sadie Hawkins" dance in the Winter, take a weekend trip to the mountains in the fall, and spend years bonding together as a sorority.

DEKA

The DEKA is the club for dorm girls. It was the first of the four clubs to be founded, and has a long history of sisterhood in Glenn Hall. A highlight of the DEKA year is the Spring DEKA Carnival, to which the girls invite the entire community for an afternoon of treats, face painting, games, and prizes.

Phi Alpha

The Phi Alpha is the dorm boys club. The Phi Alpha's two signature events are their Halloween Haunted House and the Phi Alpha Ball.

Sigma Delta Pi

The local boys club is the Sigma Delta Pi. The Sigma is the "brother" club to the DEKA, and the Sigma boys have been know to wake up early on school mornings to cook breakfast for their sisters in the dorm.
