Performing Arts Camp

We are in the second week of ANC’s Performing Arts Camp for 6th, 7th & 8th graders. Campers have been working on their character creation, choreography, vocals and blocking for the upcoming performance of “Madagascar, Jr.”

ANC Performing Arts camp is an annual theatrical experience for middle schoolers culminating in a performance of a musical. This year’s show is “Madagascar, Jr,” and all are invited to the two final performances.

“Madagascar, Jr.” follows the story of Alex the lion, king of the urban jungle and the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends – Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo – have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape – with the help of some prodigious penguins – to explore the world.

Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar JR. will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!” This 60 minute show is perfect for kids of all ages! Tickets are $6 and are available online.
