2011 Graduation Speeches
June 8, 2011
Family, friends, alumni, and members of the community turned out on Saturday, May 28, to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2011. It was a warm, sunny day and the exuberance of the class was shared by the entire audience. The identity of the commencement speaker, usually a parent of a graduate, was kept secret until she was introduced by Vice Chancellor Carswell. Though not technically a parent, Mrs. Esther Yardumian-Smyth has been a surrogate mother to many residents of the Glenn Hall girls dormitory where she served as Housemother during her long career at ANC—a career whose culmination coincided with the graduation of this class.
