From the Coaches

Varsity volleyball went 11-7 during the 2016 season, picking up the first winning record for the team since 2011. The Lions were ranked #1 in the state in total service aces for three weeks running on maxpreps

Nicole M. (freshman/middle) led the lions with 176 kills, 74 service aces, 28 blocks, 145 digs and a .398 hitting percentage. Other key contributors included Allaina B. (junior/setter) who recorded 176 assists, 70 service aces and 79 digs, Alexis N. (senior/middle) with 115 kills and 17 blocks, and Lauryl M. (junior/libero) who tallied 194 digs and 62 service aces.

One of the highlights from the season was hosting a Dig Pink Event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The team dressed in pink jerseys, sold baked goods and raffled off a pair of Flyers Tickets. The event was a huge success and the team raised a total of $1,111 for the Side-Out Foundation.

With many key players returning next season, the Lions are looking forward to a strong 2017 season.

11/02 PAISAA Semi-Finals vs. Germantown Academy

Varsity volleyball fell 0-3 in the PAISAA semi-finals to Germantown Academy. Nicole M. led the team with nine digs, eight kills, and two solo blocks. Lauryl M. and Allaina B. each added seven digs, while Carling B. tallied seven assists.

10/31 PAISAA Quarter-Finals vs. George School

Varsity volleyball topped George School 3-0 to advance to the PAISAA semi-finals. Nicole M. led the Lions with 16 kills and eight digs. Libby A. and Allaina B. each picked up 12 digs, while Carling B. dished out a team high 13 assists.

10/26 TCISL Championship vs. Perkiomen

Varsity volleyball defeated Perkiomen to capture the 2017 Tri-County Independent School League Championship. Nicole M. led the Lions with 14 kills, 10 digs, and a career high six blocks. Megan M. added six kills and a .455 hitting percentage, while Allaina B. anchored the defense with a team high 13 digs and 12 assists. Lauryl M. tallied 11 digs and six service aces.

10/25 TCISL Semi-Finals vs. West-Mont Christian

Varsity Volleyball advanced to the Tri-County Independent School League Championship with a 3-0 win over West Mont Christian in the semi-finals. Nicole M. led the Lions with 16 kills, seven digs, three blocks, five service aces and a .789 hitting percentage. Megan M. added four kills and a .500 hitting percentage while Lauryl M. tallied 11 digs.

10/20 vs. Little Flower Catholic

Varsity volleyball finished regular season play with a 3-0 victory over Little Flower. Nicole M. tallied 11 kills, eight service aces, two blocks and a .917 hitting percentage. Libby A. added eight digs, while Megan M. notched six kills. Allaina B. and Carling B. each recorded 11 assists and led the team to a .396 hitting percentage.

10/13 vs. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

Varsity volleyball defeated Springside Chestnut Hill 3-0 in their Dig Pink match in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Lauryl M. led the Lions defensively with 19 digs. Nicole M. notched 11 kills, eight services aces, and hit .611, while Stevie M. added three kills and a .750 hitting percentage.

JV volleyball fell 1-2. Hannah K. led the Lions with five digs, four kills and four aces.

Following the conclusion of the game, the team honored their nine seniors for their years of dedication to the program.

10/12 vs. West-Mont Christian

Varsity volleyball improved to 6-0 in league play, with a three set victory over West Mont Christian. Nicole M. recorded a double-double, with a career high 20 kills, 11 service aces and a .667 hitting percentage. Lauryl M. added 10 digs and four service aces, while Andie G. notched eight digs and four service aces.

JJV fell 2-1. Erika F. and Wendy S. each tallied a career high five service aces.

10/09 vs. Collegium Charter

Varsity volleyball topped Collegium Charter 3-0 on the road in league play. Carling B. had a season high 14 assists, five kills, and a .625 hitting percentage. Nicole M. added 15 kills and seven digs, while Stella T. notched seven kills.

JJV volleyball fell 2-1. Kya P. tallied six kills and three aces, while Lisa A. added five aces and two assists. Navon C. recorded three digs and two aces.

10/06 vs. Perkiomen

Varsity volleyball topped Perkiomen 3-1 to improve to 4-0 in league play. The Lions tallied 23 service aces as a team, and moved into the #1 spot in the state in total service aces and service aces per set. Nicole M. had 12 kills, eight digs and seven aces. Lauryl M. recorded 12 digs, while Stella T. added eight kills, six digs and six service aces.

JJV volleyball won 2-1. Lisa A. led the team with eight aces, five digs, five kills and three assists.

10/05 vs. George School

Varsity volleyball fell in five sets to George School on the road. Nicole M. recorded her first career triple-double, with 17 kills, 18 digs, 11 aces, and 5 blocks. Allaina B. had a double-double with 13 digs and 14 assists.

Junior Varsity fell 2-1 to George School. Katie C. led the team with eight service aces, two digs, and two kills.

10/03 vs. West-Mont Christian

Varsity volleyball improved to 3-0 in league play with a three set victory over West-Mont Christian. Libby A. led the team defensively with eight digs and three kills. Stella T. notched five kills and four service aces, while Carling B. added nine assists.

JV volleyball won 2-0. Aven M. led the Lions with a career high 11 service aces. Adele A. and Katie C. each added three service aces, while Hannah K. tallied three kills.

9/26 vs. Perkiomen

Varsity volleyball improved to 2-0 in league play with a three set victory over Perkiomen. Nicole M. led the Lions with 12 digs and six kills. Allaina B. picked up 10 assists and six digs, while Megan M. added four kills and a .364 hitting percentage.

JJV volleyball won a three set thriller against Perkiomen for their second victory of the season. Lisa A. led the team with five kills, three aces and three assists. Jennica R. added six service aces.

9/25 vs. Collegium Charter

Varsity volleyball recorded their first league win, with a 3-0 victory over Collegium Charter. Allaina B. dished out eight assists, while Andie G. led the team defensively with six digs. Carling B. led the offense with four kills and a .333 hitting percentage.

JJV won their first game of the season, defeating Collegium Charter 2-0. Lisa A. led the Lions with six kills.

9/23 ANC Volleyball Invitational

Varsity volleyball picked up a 2nd place finish at the 2017 ANC Volleyball Invitational, losing 0-2 to Baldwin in the championship game.

Nicole M. led the Lions with 39 kills, 39 digs, 16 aces, seven blocks and a .432 hitting percentage. Allaina B. added 33 assists, 26 digs, 14 kills and 10 aces, while Megan M. notched 16 kills and three blocks.

9/19 vs. George School

Varsity volleyball picked up a three set victory against George School. Nicole M. led the Lions with 14 kills, six digs, and five service aces. Allaina B. dished out 12 assists and four service aces.

Junior Varsity won 2-0. Katie C. recorded a career high 11 service aces. Adele A. added nine service aces.

9/18 vs. Baldwin

Varsity volleyball fell in four sets on the road against Baldwin. Lauryl M. led the team defensively with a season high 15 digs. Allaina B. added 11 assists and six service aces, while Nicole M. notched 12 digs and eight kills.

JV volleyball lost two close sets to Baldwin. Tori H. had a career high six kills, while Aurelle O. added six service aces and three digs. Aven M. tallied five assists and four service aces.

9/14 vs. Bensalem

Varsity volleyball improved to 4-0, with a three set victory over Bensalem. Allaina B. led the Lions with a season high nine aces, seven assists, and a .750 hitting percentage. Nicole M. added 13 kills and six digs.

JJV fell 0-2 to Bensalem. Erika F. tallied two aces, two assists, and two digs.

9/12 vs. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

Varsity volleyball improved to 3-0 on the season with a three set victory over Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. Nicole M. tallied her first double-double of the season with 15 digs, 10 kills and a .769 hitting percentage.

JV volleyball picked up their second win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Springside Chestnut Hill. Onye H. led the team with 4 aces, 2 digs, and one kill.

9/7 vs. Baldwin

Varsity volleyball improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Baldwin. Nicole M. led the Lions with 8 kills, 8 digs, 4 service aces, two blocks and a .727 hitting percentage.

Junior Varsity defeated Baldwin 2-0. Katie C. recorded eight service aces in a row during the second set.

9/5 vs. MaST Community Charter School

Varsity Volleyball picked up a 3-0 win over MaST Community Charter School. Freshman middle hitter Stella T. led the Lions with 9 kills, 2 blocks, 5 digs and a .467 hitting percentage.
