4/13/12 Shipley 12 vs ANC 6
This was a one run game in the 6th but Shipley opened it up with four hits in the 6th including a three run home run. Freshman Lucy Raymond had three Runs Batted In for ANC. Laura Clymer struck out 7 Shipley batters.
4/10/12 ANC 22 vs Westtown 7
ANC had 15 hits today led by senior Elisabeth Horigan who was 3 for 3 with two doubles. Laura Clymer had 4 Runs batted In with her two hits today.
4/5/12 Morrisville 25 vs ANC 0
A rough day for the ANC defense which struggled to get outs today. The only highlight for ANC was a double by Myrta Asplundh.
4/3/12 George School 14 vs ANC 10
Following two 16 hit games, the ANC bats went silent in this one, hitting 11 ground balls to the George School third baseman. Natalie Daum had three hits and scored twice.
3/29/12 ANC 18 vs Pennington 17
Catcher Natalie Daum doubled in the bottom of the eighth, stole second base, and advanced to third base on Elisabeth Horigan’s infield hit. Natalie took off for home when the ball got away from the Pennington catcher. Natalie was safe by inches ending the game in dramatic fashion. Natalie Daum and Lucy Raymond each had triples in this game. Lauren Asplundh had 3 Runs Batted In. Elisabeth Horigan Had 5 hits in 6 at bats including a double.
3/27/12 ANC 19 vs. Perkiomen 20
ANC hosted Perkiomen on 3/27/12. Perkiomen won 20 to 19. The JV game at Perkiomen was postponed to Thursday. The bad news is that ANC continued to struggle on defense, committing 6 errors. Sophmore Laura Clymer struggled with control through the first 4 innings but settled down to only give up 2 runs in the finale 3 innings. The good news is that the bats were hot today. ANC had 16 hits in this game. Sydney Elder, Natalie Daum, and Maddy Rose each had 3 hits. Elizabeth Horigan and Myrta Asplundh each had 2 hits. Elizabeth Horigan and Natalie Daum each had a triple. Lauren Asplundh contributed a double. The captains will lead practice on Wednesday. We have home games this Thursday and Saturday. The team will have Friday off from practice.
3/23/12 V ANC 0 @ Calvary Christian 15
ANC varsity softball lost at Calvary Christian on Friday 15 - 0. Pitcher Laura Clymer only gave up 4 hits but struggled with a tight strike zone in issuing 14 walks. We continued our defensive woes, committing 5 errors. Natalie Daum doubled for ANC's only hit of the game.
3/20/12 V ANC @ Plumstead Christian
ANC lost at Plumstead Christian by a score of 18 – 8. Lack of practice time showed on defense as ANC gave up 10 unearned runs by committing 10 errors in the field. Laura Clymer gave up only 8 hits but struggled at times with control, walking 10. ANC bats were hot today, led by senior Natalie Daum. Natalie went 3 for 4 with a triple and 4 Runs Batted In. Elisabeth Horigan went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 Runs Batted In. Maddy Rose had two singles and scored a run. Sydney Elder scored two runs and walked twice. Laura Clymer scored three runs. Plumstead Christian used talented outfielders to keep their lead, catching 2 long fly balls each by Marie Daum and Lucy Raymond.
3/20/12 JV ANC @ Plumstead Christian
The game against Plumstead Christian was a good learning experience for our green JV team. The final score 28 Plumstead 8 ANC. The girls bats were meeting the ball, Bria Hawins hit a solid one to left field, Eryn Simons dropped a beauty in right field and Taylor Henderson hit two down the third base line. As for our defense, Cailyn Elphick caught two fly balls and completed a double play to Taylor Henderson who worked hard to guard home plate. Rachael Rose pitched a solid game, unfortunately Plumstead enjoyed hitting her beautiful pitches. Annika Synnestvedt did an excellent job fielding.
