From the Coaches

The 2017-18 boys basketball season was a tale of two seasons. As he does every year, coach Givens loaded the front portion of his schedule with several difficult games, with the purpose of challenging the boys early and often. With a very young team, he and his staff most certainly had their work cut out for them. They started the season with 5 straight losses, but in each loss there was evidence of resilience and determination that can't be measured by wins and losses. They finished the season with a 9-14 overall record, 5-3 in conference play, and qualified for the Friends League playoffs for the 14th straight season. The second half of the season was extremely different from the first, because in each of those games, the boys had grown as players as well as individuals who had obtained the knowledge on how to face adversity, take moral victories from each loss, and simply compete at a high level. They had grown up right before the coaching staff's eyes in just a few short months. With the core of the team returning for next season, the sky is the limit!!! The coaching staff would like to thank everyone for it's continued support of ANC basketball!! Onward and Upward!!
