
6. MPAC Theater Arts Institute: Stagecraft and Production
Description: Where does the physical set come from? Where do the design ideas come from and how do we create so many vastly different realities on stage? The MPAC Stagecraft and Production Institute is a program uniquely focusing on stagecraft and the skills of producing sets for the stage. The course will take place in the beautiful Mitchell Performing Arts Center, beginning with design ideas and ending with a constructed set ready for the stage.
Who is it for? Aspiring actors, directors, techies and others who wish to learn about the process of creating sets for the theatrical productions. This class is for anyone interested in gaining general knowledge of stagecraft, and production management as well as for those with an interest in a particular area of stagecraft process.
