
▪What are they? ANC Summer Institutes are intensive, two-week courses earning 5 credits (.5 Carnegie Units) for 60 hours of instruction. Courses are sponsored by the Academy of the New Church in conjunction with other educational organizations and businesses.
▪When do they take place? Summer 2008 offerings will take place July 14-25.
Classes run 9-3:30, with a half-hour for lunch (provided).
▪Who are they for? Summer Institutes are open to all ages, teens and up, including adults, and offer advanced skills to the motivated student. Class size is limited to provide an intimate environment of learning-by-doing, guided by instructors who are at the top of their field and who are passionate about what they do, using state-of-the-art equipment and outstanding facilities.
▪Where are they located? The campuses of the Academy of the New Church, Bryn Athyn College, and affiliated historic buildings, facilities and grounds, are conveniently located between the Willow Grove and Philadelphia interchanges of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Facilities are state-of-the-art in a beautiful and peaceful setting.
▪Is housing available? Residence facilities are available on campus, and convenient to all course locations.
▪Is it expensive? All courses are only $525 for the full 60 hours of instruction. Lunch is included. Dorm accommodations, including breakfast and dinner, are only $600 for the two weeks.

Pixel Corps: Computer Graphics Imaging
Description: An introduction into the state-of-the-art software and skills used in computer graphics imaging. Students will gain mastery of key processes used in image creation, capture, manipulation, and synthesis from Alex and his Pixel Corps instructional staff.
Who is it for: Those with a significant interest in the production of computer graphics imaging and computer animation. Those interested in motion picture and video production, gaming and other forms of computer graphics imaging.

Pixel Corps Advanced: Computer Graphics and Production
Description: This advanced course focuses on honing CGI skills and combining those skills in actual production. Students with fundamental skills in computer graphics software will hone those skills and combine them into production, under the direct guidance of Alex Lindsay.
Who is it for: Pixel Corps Summer Institute 2007 graduates; Those with a basic knowledge of Photoshop or other relevant imaging software, who are serious about developing production-level skills in computer graphics animation.

MPAC Theater Arts Institute: Stagecraft and Production
Description: Where does the physical set come from? Where do the design ideas come from and how do we create so many vastly different realities on stage? The MPAC Stagecraft and Production Institute is a program uniquely focusing on stagecraft and the skills of producing sets for the stage. The course will take place in the beautiful Mitchell Performing Arts Center, beginning with design ideas and ending with a constructed set ready for the stage.
Who is it for? Aspiring actors, directors, techies and others who wish to learn about the process of creating sets for the theatrical productions. This class is for anyone interested in gaining general knowledge of stagecraft, and production management as well as for those with an interest in a particular area of stagecraft process.

All of these elements of fitness are dealt with in-depth by the team of instructors, and integrated to promote maximum understanding and habit-building for a long and healthy life.
