Cultural Facilities

The Academy campus, looking west. Students visit the Glencairn Museum, left, for Art, History and Religion classes, and Cairnwood Mansion, right, for History. Both facilities are used for formal social events.

Although conveniently located near Philadelphia, the Academy campus is nestled in the borough of Bryn Athyn, with its quiet neighborhoods, woodlands and fields.

Academy students are fortunate to have several extraordinary cultural facilities at their disposal on campus and in the surrounding Bryn Athyn community. Glencairn Museum has Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Medieval, and Native American collections.  The Mitchell Performing Arts Center is a professional-grade theater. The Swedenborg Library of the Bryn Athyn College has an extensive collection of books, periodicals, and other resources. Cairnwood mansion provides a lavish venue for special events, and the Bryn Athyn Cathedral, built using Old World Craftsmen is renowned in the region for its architecture and extraordinary grounds.
