"Love consists in desiring to give what is one's own to another. To feel the joy of another as joy in oneself -- that is loving."

The Academy campus, looking west. Students visit the Glencairn Museum, left, for Art, History and Religion classes, and Cairnwood Mansion, right, for History. Both facilities are used for formal social events.
Although conveniently located near Philadelphia, the Academy campus is nestled in the borough of Bryn Athyn, with its quiet neighborhoods, woodlands and fields.
This mural of the Academy campus, looking east, was the basis of a student-
made tile mural which can be seen in the lobby of the Asplundh Field House,
and was part of a capital campaign in 2000.
Conveniently located near Philadelphia, the Academy of the New Church is located in a quiet, wooded setting. The Academy campus is over one hundred years old and originally accommodated the Bryn Athyn College of the New Church, as well as the two secondary schools. The College moved to its own nearby campus in 1966.
Academic and Administrative Facilities
Classroom facilities for the Academy are housed primarily in three buildings, with some use made of other specialized cultural facilities.
Athletic Facilities
The Academy athletic facilities provide for fielding teams in baseball, softball, soccer, ice hockey, field hockey, volleyball, tennis, and both boys' and girls' lacrosse.
Residential Facilities
The Academy of the New Church has a long history of residential students. Both dormitories are replacements for earlier, original structures that go back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
Cultural Facilities
Academy students are fortunate to have several extraordinary cultural facilities at their disposal on campus and in the surrounding Bryn Athyn community.
