Lions JV Soccer loses at home to Wettown 4-0 - Soccer B/JV - 10/14/08
10/10/08 - Red 3 vs. White 1 Scrimmage
Perkiomen was not able to field a JV squad on Charter Day, and so the junior Lions held a Red vs. White intrasquad scrimmage. Red prevailed, 3-1.
10/7/08 - Shipley 1 at ANC 0 (2-4-4)
The junior Lions passed and created chances, but their visitors took the opportunity to go ahead in the second half.
10/3/08 - Lower Moreland 0 at ANC 0 (2-3-4)
While ANC played well, possessed the ball well, and generally did things right, they were unable to find the net against LM.
10/1/08 - Moorestown Friends 0 at ANC 1 (2-3-3)
Adam Chang scored his third goal of the season to provide the gamewinner in the JV match vs Moorestown Friends. Goalkeeper Kellen Ayers was tested several times, but played his box well to earn the shutout.
9/29/08 - Hun School 3 at ANC 3 (1-3-3)
Adam Chang opened the scoring when he nodded in a beautiful header. Sam Cooper added one on a solo free kick, and Ashlan Genzlinger booted one in from way outside. As the Lions looked to carry the lead through, the visitors pounced on an unfortunate opportunity. Kellan Ayers, ANC's goalkeeper, courageously came out of his net, but was taken down in a collision with an opponent. The visitors finished the loose ball for the equalizer.
9/26/08 - George School 0 at ANC 0 (1-3-2)
The game was back and forth, with opportunities for both sides. Kellen Ayers had some nice stops in goal for the Lions. They will travel to Hun School on Monday.
9/24/08 - ANC 3 (1-3-1) at Hill School 1
The JV picked up their first win this Wednesday in Pottstown. Hill School is a perenially strong team, but the visitors jumped out to a lead when Adam Chang received a through-ball and fired low past the keeper. Alex Knight beat a defender and the goalkeeper for the second goal, and Sam Cooper capped the scoring with a long-range shot from the corner of the 18. Hill managed a goal late in the game.
9/19/08 - ANC 0 (0-3-1) at Friends Central 3
While the Lions continue to play solid, possession-style soccer, they were unable to finish opportunities in their first road game this season. Friends Central took advantage of a few mistakes to earn the win.
9/16/08 - Church Farm 1 at ANC 0 (0-2-1)
The ANC played another solid possession game, but was again unable to find the net. Play is improving and the coaches anticipate a first win soon.
9/12/08 - Perkiomen 0 at ANC 0 (0-1-1)
The junior varsity boys soccer team played at home Friday. Their game was similar to the first half of the one up in Perkiomen. They were dominant under wet conditions, possessing the ball well throughout both halves, but never found the net. Goalkeeper Kellen Ayers earned his first high school shutout with 4 saves.
