Lions win on Charter Day to start a final push for playoffs - Field Hockey G/V - 10/9/08
Field Hockey kicked off the Charter Day weekend with a win under the lights against neighbor Calvary Christian. Brandy A. scored 12 minutes into the game off of a scramble in front of goal, and Erika Z. scored off of a pass from Blair C. 7 minutes later. Calvary answered with a goal near the end of the first half, but quickly in the second half Erika Z scored her second goal of the day with an assist from Allison D. Allison then got her second goal of the season to make it 4-1 which was the final score. Sophomore Kate D had what can only be described as an explosive game for the defense. She ran through the ball, consistently denying Calvary a good chance in the offensive circle. It was a big night for the sophomore class as newcomer McKenna A. went in during the second half, and Chelsea T., who has been out for a while made her big comeback. ANC had a great game overall, playing well and enjoying the excitement of a night game with a big crowd! The next three games will be league matches, determining who will be going to playoffs.
